It has been a long time for the McRib, a time too long.  This sandwich didn’t do too well when it first introduced to the menus of McDonald’s.  But since the limited runs time to time it has gained in popularity.  So much that it has become a cult following.  It has become such a legendary quest that a that a website has been created to locate and spot McRibs. http://kleincast.com/maps/mcrib.php

For those that forgot then the taste of this sandwich, it a welcome flavor that is missing from the McDonald’s menu.  The layout of the sandwich from the top is (Bread / onion / pickles / riblet covered in sauce / bread).

The bread absorbs the BBQ sauce well and holds it shape. The onion and pickles mixed in with the sauce creates a mouth watering tangy-ness. The sauce has a sweet tang with a very small hint of spice.   I had forgotten how the riblet had tasted, it is very tender moist pork like taste.

Oh why did they take this sandwich away, this ferret can never understand management decisions in life.

Well it is summer time and is getting really hot.  With all this fur on me, being a ferret and all, I needs to cool down.  Without using the old AC unit to cool down, the best method is to site down in front of the fan with a nice cold summer drink.  Some of these drinks are labeled as a “health tonic”, “energy drink”, and “work out drinks”.  But there is a deep dark secret with these sweet chillers.

The link points to the Men’s health 20 worst drinks in America 2010.  They compare the drinks that many of us know and love with photos of the calorie equivalent in junk food form.  It is quite shocking that some drinks have so many calories per bottle.  Hint, the number one worst drink is equal to 30 chocolate chip cookies.  There also some drinks in the list that are equal to 2 Big Macs.  Is that worth it, for me, NO!  I can see why America is so fat with this crazy list.  Maybe we should bring back that sugar beverage tax, but by how much sugar is in the bottle.
